Catholic News

I am Rev. Fr. Jessie Somosierra, Jr. A Roman Catholic priest belongs to the Diocese of San Pablo. Presently assigned to Nuestra Senora de los Angeles Parish situated at the foot of Sierra Madre mountain. The Parish is composed of barangays belonging to the town of Sta. Maria, Laguna, Philippines.

This is an attempt to provide my fellow Filipinos of news that could easily be understood by all. English news about the faith and activities of the Holy Mother Church is so vast already in the internet. As I have said before, this is an attempt to bring relevant international news to the heart of Filipino faithful. I really do not know if this will make any difference.

However, I believe that one of the fundamental reason why the faithful relies more on homilies is simply because we are a kind of people that still belong and attuned to oral tradition. Though our literacy rate is high compare to other countries, the native tongue is still the nearest to the heart of the individual. For those who are well verse to foreign language could not find any difficulty to find related materials because there are plenty of it.

This is my own translation based on the information I receive both from printed materials and internet. There are a lot of news to be included but be patient with my judgment on the materials presented so far. If you have any comments, please do not hesitate to write me on these addresses: trinity@laguna.net.

May the blessings of Holy Trinity constantly nourishes us from our longing.

Respectfully yours,

Rev. Fr. Jessie Somosierra, Jr.
